Mats Hummels Set to Join RCD Mallorca: A New Chapter in His Career

Mats Hummels is about to embark on his first international engagement towards the end of his career.

As the “Mallorca Zeitung” reports, the 35-year-old 2014 world champion is said to be on the verge of moving to RCD Mallorca. According to the German player agent Timo Boll, who lives on Mallorca, only a few more details need to be clarified.

Boll was commissioned by Hummels and his father, who normally acts as an advisor, to finalize the transfer.

Hummels already owns a house in Mallorca

The central defender is currently on holiday on the popular holiday island and owns a holiday home in Mallorca.

“He doesn’t care about the money. He just wants to live in peace,” Boll explains the reasons behind Hummels’ impending move.

The German, who did not make it into the DFB EURO squad, was recently linked with a move to AS Roma. Negotiations with the “Giallorossi” were already described by Italian media as “well advanced”.

Hummels’ contract with Borussia Dortmund expires on June 30th after a total of 13 years in black and yellow, and he will be available on a free transfer from July 1st. RCD Mallorca finished the last La Liga season in 15th place.
