The non-governmental organization (NGO) Happy Universe organized, on Sunday September 27, 2022, on the sports and recreational facilities of the Happy Universe Multi-Sports Center (Chums) in Cotonou, the 1st Open challenge of CHUMS U15 badminton. This, in collaboration with the Benin Badminton Federation (FBBa) led by Aubin Assogba. At the end of the competition, the best were rewarded.

Coming from 10 clubs in Cotonou and its surroundings, the girls and boys athletes under 15 from the badminton clubs Dynamo, Friendship, Canon, AOE, As Champion, Leader, Warriors, Euro, Antilope and Center Happy Universe competed fiercely to be on the various podiums of the 1st edition of the Open Challenge CHUMS. In her opening message, the Director of the Raliatou Tairou center hinted that she was happy to welcome these young badminton players who are the next generation in this discipline. She remains convinced that this event will not only arouse the desire of other children to practice badminton but will allow other talents to reveal themselves. She urges parents to continue directing children towards healthy hobbies to avoid a life of debauchery and channel them for their future. “You are the next generation of tomorrow on whom we place all our hopes. Give the best of yourselves and may the best win in an atmosphere of fair play”, she invited. The vice-president of the Fbba Steve Falola welcomed the initiative of the NGO Happy Universe before urging the athletes to produce beautiful games so that the initiative is sustainable. The competition was enhanced by a wushu demonstration and fun activities. At the end of the open, Antilope BC came in first place ahead of Dynamo BC and Center Happy Universe. Note that all the clubs that took the open left with prizes.
