What a night for Ousmane Dembl! As always at Camp Nou since his recent soap opera this winter, the FC Barcelona winger was heavily whistled on Sunday in La Liga by Blaugrana fans when he came into play against Athletic (4-0) because of his refusal to extend his contract which expires next June.
Despite this hostile environment and this particular context, the French international put on a real show on the pitch.

Launched by his coach Xavi in the 67th minute, the former Rennais simply needed 6 minutes to get into action with a superb goal thanks to a powerful shot from a hard angle to surprise opposing goalkeeper Unai Simon. On fire afterwards, the 2018 world champion gave the Basques hell with his races and his dribbling. And finally, Dembl was rewarded for his efforts with two assists for Luuk de Jong and Memphis Depay.
If he works well, he can be the best in the world in his position. We have to encourage him, he is a great professional. He made the difference. From the left, from the right, with the last pass, he can score. It’s the Dembl we want to see, appreciated his coach, totally under the spell of his qualities, at a press conference. Because without his physical problems, the native of Vernon remains indeed a real talent. Can he manage to chain without finding the infirmary?
