The ceremony for the awarding of medals for athletic valor to Agnese Allegrini and Rosario Maddaloni, former athletes who have distinguished themselves in Badminton, took place yesterday morning in the council chamber of the Municipality of Santa Marinella.
We recall that Badminton has been present in Santa Marinella for over 20 years as both the federal headquarters and the federal technical center were here from 1989 until the 2000s. Here two great Badminton champions were trained: Agnese Allegrini who he has participated in two Olympics (in 2008 in Beijing and in 2012 in London) and Rosario Maddaloni multiple Italian champion for over a decade with an international journey of great value.
For the occasion, the Mayor Pietro Tidei, the sports delegate councilor Marina Ferullo, the President of the Italian Badminton Federation Carlo Beninati, Colonel Roberto Punzo President of the Lazio Regional Committee and athlete of the Paralympic Defense Sports Group attended the ceremony. members of the Para Badminton commission Ugo Borrelli and Carmine Iacovella, the Technical Director of the National Lorenzo Pugliese, the coach of the National Para Enrico Galeani with Thaira Mengani part of the technical staff, Giorgio Bianchi President of the Polisportiva Azzurra Santa Marinella together with other representatives of the Polisportiva. Before the ceremony, the sports facilities of Santa Marinella were visited, where para-athlete Rosa De Marco currently trains permanently. For the occasion, the councilor delegated to Sport Marina Ferullo recalled what Badminton represented in Santa Marinella for over 20 years where champions such as Agnese and Rosario were born, in the then national technical center, and the Mayor Tidei made himself available to continue and intensify a fruitful collaboration in collaboration with the Italian Badminton Federation.
Colonel Roberto Punzo also reiterated the importance of developing the movement with particular attention to ParaBadminton, hoping that in addition to sports facilities there are also adequate hotels.
