Biathlon, Norway victorious in the men’s relay in Hochfilzen. Italy tenth – OA Sport

Last act in a male key for the third stage of the 2021-2022 Biathlon World Cup. On the snows of Hochfilzen (Austria) the men’s relay and the Cross-country skiing and biathlon center Hochfilzen it was the scene of an exciting test.

Before the start of this race, among the men, Norway could count on 11 affirmations (including the world champion gold of 2005). The figure has been updated to 12 thanks to today’s success that could have been expected. The quartet Sturla Holm Laegreid, Tarjei Boe, Johannes Boe and Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen has put together a race of excellent workmanship with a simply sumptuous Boe (Johannes) in the third fraction: ‘immaculate’ series in shooting and speed on narrow skis as in its best versions.

Team Norge was therefore able to celebrate (0 + 5) with a margin of 21.2 against the France (0 + 8) and 47.3 with respect to Russia (1 + 9). He tried Quentin Fillon Maillet (zero at the shooting range) to put pressure on Christiansen, but the Norwegian held up with two reloads and won no ifs and buts. Transalpine team that paid duty with a not very brilliant first fraction of Fabien Claude (4 refills), which slowed down the pace of the quartet a bit. However, the solidity of the French team test remains. Great comeback of the Russian Eduard Latypov who, taking advantage of a Philipp Nawrath (Germany) going into crisis in the last lap, managed to overturn a situation that seemed unfavorable after the polygon.

Too bad for Italy. Our local selection, without Lukas Hofer due to tiredness and a bad cold, he made us dream in the first two fractions thanks to Thomas bormolini (0 + 3), who finished in seventh position, and above all by a great one Tommaso Giacomel (second with 0 + 1 at 10.5 from the top and a last standing polygon with impressive shot release speed). Then the other two fractions were missing: Didier Bionaz ran into the penalty round in the standing series, totaling 1 + 4. The performance of the Dominik Windisch who with a 1 + 5 at the shooting range concluded in tenth position (total of 2 + 13 for the blues) at 3: 29.1. It is clear that for our standard-bearers something must be registered in the shooting series in view of the next engagements.
