Very sad news came from our neighbors. One of the most successful Slovenian snowboarders, Marko Grilc, died tragically in Sölden, Austria.
The tragedy happened while shooting the film on a closed ski slope. According to Austrian police, Grilc and his group allegedly went through the terrain, but fell and hit his head on a snowy rock. Because he did not have a helmet, he died on the spot.
Although the staff immediately began his resuscitation, they did not save his life. When the doctor arrived, he could only state death. The snowboarder was 38 years old.

Grilc was one of the most successful snowboarders in Slovenia. In 2009, he won the famous Air & Style competition in Innsbruck. During his career, he stood on the podium four times in World Cup races. In 2010, he even won.
In recent years, he has not ridden much and has mainly focused on filming. He tried to make snowboarding even more popular, especially among young people.
Already in 2016, he suffered severe injuries. And again in Austria, specifically in Schladming. At that time, he seriously injured his back and was airlifted to the hospital. After the injury, Grilc said that angels were riding with him at the time.
