PSG’s Aminata Diallo denies involvement in attack on teammate | Football

Diallo and Hamraoui, competitors of each other, were in a car together after a party on November 4. Two masked men stopped the vehicle and pulled Hamraoui from the car, only to beat her on the legs with iron bars.

Diallo was arrested earlier this week for allegedly devising the plan to attack her teammate. On Thursday she was released for the time being, as was a friend of hers who is also a suspect.

Hamraoui, 31, returned to PSG last summer, having previously played for the club from 2012 to 2016. In May she won the Champions League with FC Barcelona. Hamraoui recently made her comeback in the French national team after an absence of 2.5 years. When she was unable to participate in October due to an injury, national coach Corinne Deacon called on Diallo as a replacement. Diallo didn’t get to play.

PSG already spoke out on Wednesday. “Paris Saint-Germain is working with the Versailles police to clarify the facts. The club is closely monitoring the progress of the procedure and will investigate what measures need to be taken.”
