“It’s an artificial creation of rivalry.” The football player denies having beaten her teammate

Footballer Aminata Dialla denied that she would take part in the violent attack on her teammate from Paris Saint-Germain and the French national team Kheira Hamraoui.

The 26-year-old midfielder was released from prison on Wednesday and no charges have been brought against her. The investigation of the case continues.

According to French media, Diall is suspected of participating in an attempt to injure her teammate Hamraoui, who is her rival in the PSG and national team.

On Thursday, November 4, during a joint trip from the team dinner, Hamraoui was pulled out of a car driven by Diall by two masked men and beaten with an iron bar. The player suffered leg and hand injuries.

“Aminata Diall formally denies the allegations. She condemns the artificial creation of a rivalry between her and Kheira Hamraoui, which should justify her attack on her teammate. This theory in no way corresponds to the true nature of their relationship,” said Diall’s lawyer Mourad Battikh.

The management of Paris Saint-Germain, where the Czech national team goalkeeper Barbora Votíková also worked, canceled all media activities of the team and closed its trainings due to the incident.

Immediately after Diall’s arrest, the French media began speculating that the incident was similar to the scandal of American figure skater Tonya Harding. In 1994, she hired a man for her rival, Nancy Kerrigan, who injured her knee with an iron rod.
