The draw for the hens scheduled for April 1

The draw for the pools for the 2022 FIFA World Cup will take place on April 1 in Doha, Qatar, the day after a FIFA congress, the international football federation announced on Thursday.

In the draw, the 32 countries will be divided into eight groups of four teams. In addition to Qatar, which automatically qualifies as a host country, Germany and Denmark already have their tickets for the 2022 World Cup. With a record of 16 out of 18 points, Belgium is almost guaranteed to go to Qatar and should be seeded thanks to its first place in the world rankings.

During the draw, all the qualifying nations will not yet be known as intercontinental play-offs will have to be played in June.

Thirteen European countries will qualify for Qatar: the ten group winners of qualifying and three qualifying via the play-offs. The draw for the European play-offs will take place on November 26 in Zurich, FIFA announced on Thursday.

The 2022 Mondial is scheduled from November 21 to December 18.
