The meeting between the C silver 2021-22 companies and the Fip Umbria Regional Committee has given birth to news. There will be 16 teams in competition, given the three repechage of Young Basket Pesaro, Porto Recanati and Aurora Jesi. To have the right to participate were 14 clubs, but given the repechage of Sutor Montegranaro in Serie B, Porto Sant’Elpidio Basket moved up to C Gold leaving three places free. The formations have therefore become twelve from the Marche, three from Umbria plus the Titans of San Marino. The agreed formula foresees a first phase with two groups of eight, chosen according to geographical criteria, which will see in the first round the teams of the northern brands face off against the San Marino players. Among the eight teams present there are therefore the two Pesaro companies of Loreto Basket and Young Basket, Urbania basketball, fresh from the purchase of Andrea Nardini from Pesaro, Acqualagna who will field the former Young Basket Vittorio Lorenzi and last year’s finalists of the Bartoli Mechanics MBA guided by the former Bramante (among others) Andrea Cambrini.
The start of the championship is scheduled for 9-10 October, but a sort of Serie A-style Super Cup has been decided for the pre-season, with four groups of four and the final four to assign what has been called “Centenary Cup C silver Marche- Umbria “.
