Conceição on Díaz and Uribe: “The club is more important”

The Portuguese League was the last to rule on the loan of its players to the teams that will play the South American Qualifiers in September. He pointed out that as a body they will support clubs that do not want to give in to footballers for the triple date. This could affect Colombia with Luis Díaz and Matheus Uribe, Porto figures.

Sérgio Conceição, coach of the Portuguese team, spoke this Friday at a press conference and admitted that his institution is analyzing the decision it is going to make with the Colombians. The classic of September 12 against Sporting Lisbon is one of the reasons for not lending them.

“We will think about it later, but it is a problem, certainly. Díaz and Uribe will play the last match with Colombia on the 9th and the match against Sporting is on the 11th or 12th, I think. Then we will talk with the players and the federations to understand. Of course the selection is important, but the club is more important in my opinion“Conceição said at the press conference prior to Saturday’s game against Arouca for the Portuguese league.

The DT also spoke of the transfer market that will end on August 31, he did not rule out departures or arrivals. Nor did he refer specifically to the rumor of an exchange between Luis Díaz and James Rodríguez., but said that we will have to wait until the last day to see if there is any movement with any of his players.

“The market arouses curiosity, there is always this final stage where there can be movements. But from what I’ve heard from the leadership, for now, things are very quiet. You never know what could happen until the last day, “he added.
