18 medals for the guests of the Cunegonda center at San Paolo

This morning the councilor for sport Pietro Petruzzelli spoke at the final event of the “Cortocircuito” project, created by the “Cunegonda” day center at San Paolo. Starting from May, or when the yellow zone was established again, the children followed by the operators of the structure were able to carry out various recreational and sporting activities, engaging in eight different disciplines.

These include archery, skittles, football, tennis, mini golf, target shooting, basketball and darts: all activities that they were able to carry out despite the long period of isolation that involved the entire region. At the end of the weekly training sessions they then participated in the weekly competitions, wearing the uniforms offered by the “Carlo Valente” foundation. During the event, during a short ceremony, the commissioner took the opportunity to reward the eighteen users followed by the operators of the public structure of the mental health department of the Bari ASL.

“This morning I participated in the award ceremony of these guys who fortunately resumed playing and doing sports together after a long period of social isolation – commented Pietro Petruzzelli – as in many other occasions of the kind, I was able to personally see how important sport is for the psycho-physical well-being of children and how it is able to cancel differences. For this, on behalf of the administration, I thank the operators of the center, for the great work they do every day, and the Carlo Valente foundation ”- he concluded.
