Zulia’s women’s basketball does not rest with a view to the Superliga

In the absence of an official date for the holding of the first Women’s Super League (October is the tentative month at the moment), in the state of Zulia a group of girls are preparing for the youth championship, which is estimated could take place in July, he does not cease in his objectives to represent the region at the top of professional basketball and U17.

Néstor Solarte (DT) and Joaly Carrasquero (Assistant), technical duo who led Brillantes de Maracaibo during the 2020 SLB edition, work two days a week to continue training their team of currently 18 players between 13 and 17 years. A process that began in 2016, and has brought them joys as valuable results at the national level and nurturing the Vinotinto in its different categories. Born in 2005, she represented Venezuela at the age of 13 in the 2018 South American U15 held in Chile. The following year she raised the bar by being chosen to travel to Colombia and say present in the South American U17, still having 14. There he shared with Nohelia Chile, Edglimar Montero, Fabiana Hernández and Ysasis Danielis, also summoned to the recent Eduardo Pinto Pre-Selection.

Andrea Contreras comes from an experience in Italy, with the Women’s Super League as the goal

Another piece that gives credit to what was done in Zulia is Andrea Contreras. She was offered a scholarship to bring her talents to Italy, and upon arrival, she was put without much thought to deploy in the professional league. His contract ended and he returned to Venezuela with a mission to graduate, thinking of going back, but the pandemic spoiled the plan.

He joined this group of girls again, although he can no longer be part of the state team because he is of legal age. In the same way, he trains with the team for the Super League.
