“The coach wanted to keep me out …”

After a decisive basket to close the game in the last possession of Race-4, Chris Paul he came back to the defense screaming “I’m back!”. Game-4 was perhaps the first real game CP3 played “as CP3” in this series against the Lakers. The veteran played 32 ‘(only in Race-1 he had played more) and went into double figures for the first time since the beginning of the series, with 18 points to which he added 9 assists.

Paul’s physical condition therefore seems to have improved a lot compared to previous outings, when a shoulder problem had compromised his performance. Coach Monty Williams himself, after Race-2, had declared that he had decided to remove CP3 from the game because he saw it too sore. According to what Paul said after Race-4, coach Williams would have liked not to play him last night for fear of a net deterioration. It would have been the Suns player himself to have insisted on taking the field, in retrospect with very good reasons.

“The coach told me he would keep me out … I replied: ‘Damn, no!'” Chris Paul said during the post-match interview on the sidelines.
