The Swiss pilot Jason Dupasquier (KTM) died this Sunday at the age of 19 after failing to overcome the injuries caused by the serious accident he suffered yesterday, Saturday, during the Q2 of Moto3 at the Italian Grand Prix.

“We are deeply saddened to report the death of Jason Dupasquier. On behalf of the entire MotoGP family, we send our condolences to his team, his family and his loved ones. We will miss you so much, Jason. Rest in peace “, explained in a statement the organization of the MotoGP World Championship.

The accident occurred when there was one lap left to finish the qualifying session. The red flag interrupted the Q2 of the small category in Mugello when in the bend 9 Dupasquier vto lose control of the motorcycle and went to the ground.

Japanese driver Ayumu Sasaki (KTM), who was coming from behind Dupasquier, was unable to dodge and ended up on the grass, in an accident in which Jeremy Alcoba (Honda) was also involved.

The Swiss received medical attention on the same track, for a period of 30 minutes, and then was taken to a hospital in Florence, where he will be operated on in the following hours, while Sasaki and Alcoba were unharmed in the spectacular accident.
