Coronavirus in the capital: Berlin AfD calls for daycare centers, schools and shops to be opened – Berlin

890 new infections, 63 dead – but the incidence in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg is 76.1

The Corona management report for Berlin on Wednesday again showed some significantly increased values. The Senate Health Administration reported 890 new infections and 63 other deaths. On Tuesday there were only 433 new cases and 34 dead, 732 new infections and 39 deaths on the Wednesday of the previous week. It remained unclear whether this time late registrations could also have contributed to the high values - at the weekend the values were unusually low because no figures were available from some districts.

Other key indicators continued to decline: The seven day incidence went up from 106.8 the previous day to 101.2 on Wednesday back. The R-value, which indicates how many people an infected person is statistically infected, fell within three days from 1.04 to 0.91 to now 0.74. The utilization of the intensive care beds hardly changed at 30.3 percent compared to 30.5 percent. Were on Wednesday 391 patients with severe Covid 19 disease in intensive care treatment. Only the traffic light for the R value is green, the others are red.

The authorities are striving across Germany a seven-day incidence below 50 in order to be able to track infections again without gaps. In Berlin, the traffic light only switches from red to yellow below 30. With 101.2 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week, the city is still a long way from that. In some districts, however, the value is now well below the 100 mark: The seven-day incidence is lowest in the much maligned Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg at 76.1. A week ago it was 105.7. Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf with 87.3 and Steglitz-Zehlendorf with 91.9 are also on the right track. The highest values are currently in Spandau and Mitte: 122.4 each. The figures in the map below differ slightly, as the Tagesspiegel gets its data directly from the health authorities; the reporting delay is shorter.
