Discuss the latest field of 64 forecasts

The college baseball postseason picture is constantly changing, but what doesn’t change much are the top eight national rankings in this week’s D1Baseball postseason predictions.

Texas A&M, Arkansas, Clemson, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina and East Carolina remain in the top eight, while Wake Forest fell out of the top eight after losing a series at Notre Dame. Florida State takes over for the Demon Deacons, who won a big road series against Duke and have a very favorable schedule moving forward.

As for the other 16 seeds and regional hosts, Oregon State moves back up to ninth and is knocking on the door of being an eight seed again. Meanwhile, there are two new top 16 seeds in this week’s forecast: Arizona and Coastal Carolina are each out after ugly weekends, and UCSF and Oklahoma State are in this week.

The Pokes remain in the running for the Big 12 Conference regular season title and have a strong RPI and overall record, while UCSB has a strong non-conference record, going 28-12 overall in the last RPI 17th place and strong grades in the Western Conference Great. By the way, the Gauchos are said to be trying to host in their home in Santa Barbara.

Overall, the SEC leads all teams in the latest projections with ten teams in the field, while the ACC trails by nine. The Big 12 has seven, along with two stalwart bubble teams in TCU and Kansas. Meanwhile, the Pac-12 and Sun Belt each have four teams in the field, while the Big East, Big Ten, Coastal, Conference USA and Big West each have two.

Our predictions are compiled each week by the trio of Mark Etheridge, Kendall Rogers and Aaron Fite. Combined, the trio has more than 60 years of experience covering college baseball and compiling regional projections.
