Quindío Para-Athletes Ready for International Competitions Thanks to Indeportes Support

Camilo José Ortiz Montero, manager of Indeportes, expressed satisfaction for having fulfilled one of the sports goals assigned by Governor Juan Miguel Galvis Bedoya, which consisted of preparing the para-athletes of Quindío for the upcoming competitions. These athletes are ready to participate in several important tournaments, such as the XII Torneo Fundación Emilio Sánchez Vicario, Tram Barcelona Open España, and Royan de Francia, which will take place in May, and the Barranquilla Open, XVI Cali Open 2024, and West Texas Pro Tennis Wheelchair Open 2024, scheduled for June.

Paralympic athlete Diego Cortés expressed his gratitude on behalf of his teammates and the Colombian national wheelchair field tennis team, thanking the governor for fulfilling his campaign promises to support Paralympic athletes. He also thanked Camilo Ortiz for his commitment and knowledge of the sport, as well as the technical, legal and financial areas of Indeportes, whose support is crucial for athletes to participate in international tournaments, contributing to improving their rankings.

María Alejandra Chávez, also a Paralympic athlete, added: “We want to thank the governor of Quindío and the manager of Indeportes for the support given to me and all the athletes. The goal is to obtain a good ranking, and we are excited to participate in important tournaments, such as the one that will be held in Barranquilla and the XVI Cali Open 2024, both in June.”
