Badminton: 10 trainees in search of Level 1 BWF Diploma

10 aspiring badminton trainers take part from December 11 to 18, 2020 at the pavilion of the Hall of Arts and Recreation in Cotonou in an international coaching course for obtaining the BWF Level 1 Diploma. Funded by the African Badminton Confederation, this training, under the guidance of the Beninese expert, Bernadin Bokpè, takes place in strict compliance with barrier gestures. The training is part of the program of administration and development of the national structure set up by the Beninese Badminton Federation for a few weeks. Occasionally, participants are equipped on subjects such as the roles and responsibilities of the BWF coach, the philosophy of training, performance factors including physical, cycle and movement pattern and others. These trainees were also given technical knowledge, including hitting techniques and training planning. In his message, Bernadin Bokpè ​​expressed his ambition to revolutionize Badminton in Benin. “I would ask you to be very committed during the days that we are going to spend together so that at the exit, we can have very very satisfactory results,” he added. For the President of the Beninese Badminton Federation, this course is the continuation of a policy of development of the said discipline and of its national structure after already the installation under the impetus of the World Federation of this discipline and the Confederation, of the different Leagues. According to Aubin Assogba, his team’s vision is to have young people capable of training, detecting and training rare gems before the African U15 and U19 Championships as well as the French-speaking African Cup that Benin is hosting .
