The world of Argentine tennis says goodbye to “D10S” Maradona – Télam

“Unique moment! D10S”, Leo Mayer post, on his personal Instagram account.

The world of Argentine tennis echoed this Thursday the death of the star Diego Armando Maradona with messages of affection and recognition to the “10” of some of his references, including Leonardo Mayer, Mariano Zabaleta and Nadia Podoroska.

“Unique moment! D10S”, wrote the Corrientes Mayer, 33, on his personal Instagram account.

The tennis player’s phrase, to which he added a soccer ball, the Argentine flag and a racket, was accompanied by a photo of both in which “Pelusa” holds “Leo’s racket in his hands.

Maradona and Mayer were together when the star went to support the Argentine Davis Cup team in the final of the 2016 edition won against Croatia, in the city of Zagreb.

That final series ended 3-2 in favor of the Argentine team and became the first and, for now, only Davis Cup star for our country.

Mariano zabaleta, former professional tennis player and current vice president of the Argentine Tennis Association (AAT), was another of the references of “white sport” who recalled “Pelusa” in his social networks.

“I could express thousands of things that I think of Diego. But I am going to keep what for me is his greatest legacy. Diego taught all Argentine athletes that there is no excuse when it comes to defending the colors of the country”, wrote.

“Not only was he the most wonderful athlete on this planet, but in addition to being one, he preached by example doing everything he could to say present every time the National Team needed it,” continued “Zabala.”

“Argentine sport cries for you and clings to your example to move on. Infinite thanks Diego, you will always have a place in my heart!”, Concluded Zabaleta.

Nadia Podoroska, finalist in the last edition of Roland Garros, also joined the virtual farewell to the most important footballer in the history of the Argentine national team.

“I was not lucky enough to meet you, nor do I have a photo with you. But, like millions of people in the world, today I feel immense pain,” the tennis player from Rosario shared in her official Twiiter account.

“I stay with this image. Only against the world, like so many times! Thank you, Diego Infinito”, concluded the “Russian” who added a photo of Maradona in which he is seen in front of six Belgian footballers during a match corresponding to the World Cup from Spain 1982.
