Coach Luis Enrique’s team lost 0: 1 (0: 0) in Ukraine despite their great superiority and numerous chances and in group four they are only one point ahead of Germany, which played 3: 3 against Switzerland. Viktor Zygankow (76th) scored out of nowhere for the corona weakened Ukraine, which like the DFB-Elf now has six points on the account.

Spain was clearly superior from the start and had numerous good opportunities. But Rodrigo Moreno (12th), young star Ansu Fati (15th), Sergio Ramos (21st), Sergio Canales (34th) or Rodrigo Hernandez (64th) failed either because of Ukrainian goalkeeper Georgij Buschtschan, who was in a much better mood this time than last against Germany, or aimed past the gate.

Zygankow was then much more efficient for the Ukrainians, who had to do without some regular players like against the DFB-Elf (1: 2), and punished Spain for the usury. The “Furia Roja” had won the first leg 4-0.

Spain will welcome Germany to the group final on November 17th, three days before the game in Switzerland is due.
