Djokovic’s coach does not regret his words about Nadal

Goran Ivanisevic, one of the coaches of Novak Djokovic, acknowledged that he was wrong when he assured that Rafa Nadal I had no options in the last final of Roland Garros, in which the Spanish prevailed with force to the number one of the world.

“I was convinced that Novak was going to win this Roland Garros,” the Croatian told the sports channel SportClub.

Even so, Ivanisevic explained that he does not regret his words, despite the controversy they have generated, since he said them with sincerity.

“I exaggerated a little when saying that Nadal had no options, but at that time he preferred Novak,” explained who was champion of Wimbledon.

Ivanisevic thinks the defeat was due more to Djokovic’s failures than Nadal’s successes, although he admits that the Spaniard “played a perfect match.”

“Novak was not at his level,” he said about the Serbian, and clarified that Roland Garros is like “Rafa’s living room” and that he can win there even without playing well.
