After having gleaned a title decked out in number 23 and number 3 respectively, LeBron James and Anthony Davis could well change shirts to set out again to conquer the Larry O’Brien trophy. According to some sources, it has even already been done.
This season has been so crazy, so unique, and ultimately so long, that you almost forget how it started. Remember though: last summer, before we even played a game together, LeBron James and Anthony Davis were already discussing… jersey number.
As a great lord, the King indeed wanted to drop his number 23 to Unibrow, who wore it to NOLA, as a welcome gift. James would have recovered the 6, which he already wore during his stay in Miami.
Unfortunately for the 2 men, the decision could not be taken before the deadline imposed by Nike, the official equipment supplier of the league, and LeBron therefore kept his number 23, while Davis fell back on the 3. But this was only partly postponed according to the latest information!
The daily Marca indeed believes to know that this time, the two accomplices had the approval of Nike to carry out their project. Nothing is official, but we should therefore be heading towards number 6 for James, and 23 for AD.
