This is what Ant-Man said to a locker room manager in Denver, just before leaving the Nuggets room yesterday. The Wolves are down 3-2 against the defending champion but Edwards has every intention of returning to Colorado for a decisive round. This will necessarily involve a success in the sixth round in Minnesota on Thursday evening.
“I’m super excited. That’s competition. We come home and our backs are against the wall. It will be fun!”
Anthony Edwards remains in a very complicated match in Game 5, where he was constantly targeted by the Nuggets defense. The absence of Mike Conley hurt and Ant-Man perhaps had his least accomplished game (18 points, 9 assists, 4 turnovers, 5/15 shooting) of his magnificent Playoffs campaign. “It was crazy tonight” Edwards said after the game, speaking about Denver’s defensive tactics.

The last time Edwards didn’t play at his top level, he came back with the knife between his teeth to put 44 points on the Nuggets’ lead in Game 4 in Minnesota. We can therefore legitimately expect another XXL performance from Ant-Man tomorrow evening, it remains to be seen if it will be enough to snatch a decisive seventh round. As a reminder, Edwards’ 44 pawns were not enough to counter the reigning champion in the fourth match.
Given the current momentum, Nikola Jokic’s all-time level of play and the uncertainties surrounding Mike Conley, the mission promises to be complicated for Anthony Edwards and the Wolves. It’s up to Ant to show that nothing is impossible for him…
