Real Madrid, ready to put the League on track against Getafe

Real Madrid host Getafe this Thursday (10pm, Movistar + LaLiga) in the match corresponding to day 33 of the Santander League. After Barça’s stumble against Atlético de Madrid, the whites can take another step towards the title.

The tight victory at RCD Stadium against Espanyol (0-1) certified that Madrid does not want to miss this League. A genius from Karim Benzema was enough to bend a virtually descended parakeet set. The Frenchman’s spur assist on Casemiro is clear evidence that this team is left over. He dominated the game from start to finish, and on one of the few occasions he generated he didn’t fail.

The League becomes a long agony (2-2)

A victory against Getafe would be a turning point in the fight for the championship. José Bordalás’ team is an expert in these contexts in which he is not a favorite. The return of the League had not been good for Madrid. The initial defeat in Granada (2-1) was joined by two consecutive draws at home against Espanyol (0-0), Eibar (1-1) and a last one in Valladolid (1-1). But the victory against Real Sociedad (2-1), with goals from Jaime Mata and Jorge Molina, has allowed them to curb the bad dynamics of recent games and consolidate again in European positions.

Zidane is still unable to count on Lucas and Jovic, while keeping Nacho in doubt. With the exception of all three, the French coach can count on all his players in the face of a decisive duel. Hazard appears to have recovered from the ankle contusion. Madrid would repeat an eleven similar to the one won by Espanyol. Courtois in goal; defense of four by Carvajal, Ramos, Varane and Marcelo; a midfield with Casemiro, Kroos and Valverde or Modric, and in attack, Vinicius, Benzema and Hazard. If the Belgian is not one hundred percent in his place Rodrygo could enter.

For his part, Bordalás has the injury of the injured Cabaco, in addition to the Brazilians Kennedy and Deyverson, who have ended their association with the club. The Alicante coach will have his eleventh gala and the question is whether he will bet on doubling the sides as usual. Soria would be under sticks; Damián, Djené, Etxeita and Olivera, on defense; a quarterback in the middle with Maksimovic and Arambarri in the double pivot, and Etebo and Cucurella – already owned by Getafe – in the interiors, and Mata and Molina in the front.

Real Madrid is the leader with 71 points and if they get the victory, Barça would be ahead in the standings by four points, while Getafe is fifth with 52 points, six above Valencia and five below the Champions League, which marks the Seville.
