Former Bronco Steve Renouf took over old teammate Darren Lockyer for his role in Brisbane’s slump in form.
Renouf went to Twitter earlier this week and described Lockyer as “a big part of the problem.”
After a brilliant career as a player, Lockyer joined the board and is a member of the recruitment committee.

There have been allegations that Brisbane’s squad is poorly managed and that they have spent too little on underperformers.
Lockyer and Renouf won premierships together, but that didn’t stop Renouf from criticizing his old teammate.
“I love you, buddy, but you have to share responsibility here,” Renouf wrote on social media.
“You are on the board, part of the recruiting and also of the leadership. You have positioned yourself as an influential administrator so that you make up a large part of the problem! “
Renouf had also rejected proposals that the Broncos had to rebuild.
In an NRL.com column, he argued that the club is not remodeling and that Anthony Seibold has a good squad.

CASUALTY WARD: The roosters’ worries continue as Cordner and Tupou go under
“The idea that the Brisbane Broncos would have to be rebuilt for two or three years after Wayne Bennett was released is nonsense,” wrote Renouf.
“The Broncos didn’t have to be rebuilt 18 months ago.
“After the team was hit by the dragons in the 2018 final series, I called Wayne Bennett and talked about what we both thought was a promising future.
“We shouldn’t forget that Payne Haas, Kotoni Staggs and David Fifita were promoted under Bennett and made their NRL debuts. He was looking forward to developing it further.

“It is ridiculous to say that the club needed a so-called rebuild because the Broncos under Bennett won 64 percent of their games in their second stint, the same win rate as before 2009. My question is: why wasn’t that recognized?
“Seibold came in and pretty soon the experience was torn out of the club and people like Kodi Nikorima, James Roberts and Company left.

“Now everything is beginning to unravel. Your recruitment was poor. “
