A serious passion for the Patriots
The 2007 Patriots couldn’t finish a perfect season when they lost to the Giants in Super Bowl XLII, but four months later, Massachusetts resident Sean Murphy made it, which was briefly a perfect turn .
Murphy was so exasperated by the Giants’ Super Bowl victory – that he deemed “lucky” – that he decided to steal a collection of championship rings from the EA Dion Inc manufacturing plant in Attleboro, Mass. And Murphy landed a treasure related to Attleboro. He stole $ 2 million worth of gold and jewelry and more than a dozen rings, including one he said belonged to Michael Strahan. But the thrill of the robbery did not last long.
Murphy refused to sell the rings due to a wave of public interest in their disappearance, and he then gave one to an ex-girlfriend. Murphy’s home was searched by police in 2009 following the gifted ring, leading to more than ten years in prison. Hopefully Murphy has been allowed to watch at least one of three New England Super Bowl wins in the past decade.
You can find the whole story of Murphy’s breakout at Bloomberg.
Alaskan Airlines has a bright idea
The coronavirus pandemic continues to ravage the United States, and as the summer progresses, the lack of progress can be downright frustrating. Bars and restaurants are crowded, and people across the country refuse to take the simple safety measure of wearing a mask. Alaska Airlines is looking to change that.
The company announced on Wednesday that it will begin issuing yellow cards to all non-masked passengers on flights. Those who do not comply after receiving the yellow card could be banned from traveling on the airline in the future, which is frankly not the most severe punishment possible. But in the fight against COVID-19, any incentive is useful. Good on Alaska Airlines for their creativity
