Hard Uefa penalty for Cologne beating scandal

The Cologne beating and scandal night in Nice has a hearty aftermath for the Bundesliga club! Two weeks after the Conference League game in France, Uefa now punished FC.

Sports boss Christian Keller (43) had already feared in Nice that Uefa Cologne was under special observation anyway and would therefore not turn a blind eye after hooded FC and Nice chaos had delivered violent beatings and pyro scenes.

Now the worst fears of the Cologne bosses came true. The Uefa penalty: Cologne has to pay 100,000 euros and is not allowed to sell tickets to their own fans for the next two Euro away games in Belgrade (October 13) and Slovacko (October 27). So FC have to play without fans in Serbia and the Czech Republic.

In terms of sport, the boys of coach Steffen Baumgart (50) mainly hit the away games without their own fans. The financial penalty in particular hits the club hard. Together with a pyro penalty from the playoff games that has already been imposed, Cologne has already lost the entire bonus that was given for the 1-1 draw in Nice.

According to BILD information, Cologne’s club bosses have now requested the complete penalty justification from UEFA – they have up to 5 days to do so and only want to comment on it after viewing the documents.

But the fact is: In cooperation with the police, the first thugs have already been identified after more than 300 leads were followed up. FC President Werner Wolf (66) announced that the hooligans would be thrown out immediately.
