Possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of trafficking, but also possession of clandestine weapons and ammunition and receiving stolen goods. It is for these hypotheses of crime that the carabinieri of the “Cio” and of the Licata station arrested a twenty year old and a nineteen year old who, in the very first instance: that is, immediately after the arrest, they were placed under house arrest, pending the outcome of the validation hearing.
The Smart, on which the two were, ran into a checkpoint of a patrol of the “IOC”: the operational intervention company and the military of the Licata station. Not only did the little car not stop at the Alt, it accelerated. The carabinieri managed, after a short chase, to block the Smart and while they were checking the driver, identifying him, they noticed that the passenger – the nineteen year old – was trying to get rid of a small container with a few doses of cocaine inside. Immediately blocked and subjected to search, inside the briefs, the military found other doses of marijuana. In the hood of the small car, however, a baseball bat was found and confiscated. As an investigative procedure requires, searches were carried out in the homes of the nineteen and twenty year olds. At the 19-year-old’s home, the military found a glass jar with 130 grams of marijuana and a few more doses of cocaine inside. But that’s not all. According to the accusation, inside that house there was also a pistol with an abraded serial number, therefore considered as clandestine and related ammunition. The arrest was triggered for the two young people from Licata. In various ways, they were held responsible for the possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of dealing, carrying objects capable of offending, possession of clandestine weapons and ammunition and receiving stolen goods. At the disposal of the deputy prosecutor on duty, holder of the investigation file immediately opened, the two were placed under house arrest, pending the validation hearing that took place yesterday.
It should have been, for the soldiers of the “Cio” and for those of the Licata station, an ordinary check of one of the many passing cars. In reality, in addition to the drug, a clandestine gun was also seized which was already sent to the Ris of Messina to be subjected to the necessary tests. In fact, we will try to understand if the weapon has been used or not, and if necessary when, and we will try – where possible – to trace its origin.
