Paynum Mobilité Turns Smartphones into Payment Terminals for Businesses

La Poste Pro Promotes Payment and Collection Services for Small Businesses

La Poste Pro says France’s small-business owners need two things above all: a way to take payments from customers on the spot, and a way to stop losing time at the post office — and it is promoting two services, the Paynum Mobilité smartphone payment terminal and the Collecte et Remise Plus doorstep collection, to meet both needs.

Alice Peressin, a La Poste Pro advisor, said shopkeepers and market traders cannot afford to lose a sale, so they need a complete and reliable payment solution that works immediately.

Turning Smartphones Into Terminals

Peressin said Paynum Mobilité lets a smartphone act as a full payment terminal: customers can pay contactless with a card or their phone, or through a payment link sent by SMS, email or QR code. Several employees can take payments at the same time, she said.

The service is a French product offered by Docaposte, comes with no contractual commitment, and is compatible with most banks, according to Peressin.

Doorstep Parcel Collection for Solos

With Collecte et Remise Plus, La Poste Pro picks up her parcels directly at her premises, so she no longer has to drop them off herself.

Flexibility and Operational Details

  • Can staff share one payment setup? Yes — Peressin said several collaborators can take payments simultaneously with Paynum Mobilité.
  • Does the payment service lock a business in? No — it is offered without commitment and works with the majority of banks, she said.
  • Does parcel pickup fit a solo schedule? Aurélie said she picks the day and hour of collection herself and can handle incoming mail in the same visit.
