David Jackson Claims Two 3D Archery World Titles in Yankton
David Jackson secured two individual and team world titles in 3D archery at the world championships in Yankton, United States, adding to a career total that includes seven gold medals on the global stage.
The Unionais competitor and club coach achieved the double victory in October 2026. His competitive journey began in 2010 after he first picked up a bow at age 13 in Albi back in 2005. That initial recreational interest turned into a competitive pursuit marked by a junior French championship title in 2010 before he joined L’Union tir à l’arc the following year.
An Extensive International Palmares in Barebow Competition
Jackson competes in the barebow category, navigating outdoor nature courses using bows entirely devoid of sights and stabilizers.
Since earning his first selection for the French national team in 2015, Jackson has amassed 39 national medals, 14 European medals, and 10 world championship medals, seven of which are gold. His global victories include two world titles in 2019, two more in 2022, and a mixed team gold medal in 2024 alongside his partner and fellow L’Union club member Alicia Baumert.
Balancing Club Coaching with Non-Professional Competition
Outside of international competition, Jackson maintains a steady commitment to his home association in L’Union. He has served as a club coach since 2020, passing down technical experience to younger archers while club volunteers adjust his training schedule and cover his coaching duties during international trips.
Because he competes as a non-professional athlete, balancing work and training requires careful coordination. “I don’t just win,” Jackson stated, noting that defeats, frustrations, and constant self-assessment form essential parts of his athletic progression.
