Ariel Rivas of the Petroquímica Archery Club sealed a national championship in men’s recurve at the 3D Final Nacional, the closing event of Argentina’s national 3D calendar, Prensa Mercosur reported. The Petroquímica Archery Club was again a protagonist in the national scene during the final. The tournament ran Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at the Club Tiro Federal Argentino de La Plata facilities at Polígono Berisso in Buenos Aires Province, gathering homologated archers from across the country under the FATARCO calendar.
The club from Comodoro Rivadavia — based at km 8 — produced gold in mixed teams and medals in traditional, barebow and compound divisions, according to Prensa Mercosur.
Rivas’s recurve triumph anchors Petroquímica’s haul
Rivas was crowned national champion in the Recurvo Masculino category, earning a bicampeonato nacional in the discipline. Prensa Mercosur identifies his performance as the most outstanding of the final. Prensa Mercosur describes the result as confirmation of his strong run of form and a place among the leading figures in the discipline.

The rest of the Petroquímica delegation kept pace. In Tradicional Masculino, Miguel Prat took silver as national runner-up and Gabriel Rivas finished third for bronze. Gabriel Rivas then added gold in Equipos Mixtos, another title for the club. This added another important title for the delegation. In Raso Masculino, Eugenio Vdovitchenko was part of the gold-medal team and Juan Carlos Rodríguez took team silver, while Luciano Mena and Gabriel Rivas won bronze in the team competition. Agustín Matus (raso) and Guillermo Bratovich (compuesto) rounded out the club’s representation at the national final. Both archers formed part of this important national sporting experience.
Why the 3D national final matters for Argentine archery
The event served as the season-closing national championship for the 3D modality on the FATARCO calendar. For a club based in Comodoro Rivadavia, in Argentina’s far south, sweeping titles and podiums at that level is a significant statement: the sources note the results reflect the growth of archery at the club and the work being done to represent the city in the country’s main competitions. They also emphasize the commitment of the club’s athletes and the continuous work being developed to strengthen the discipline.
What the results mean for Comodoro Rivadavia
Prensa Mercosur framed the haul as the club making history in national archery, with new titles and podiums for its athletes. The source characterized the results as filling the medal table for Comodoro Rivadavia. With Rivas repeating as men’s recurve champion and Gabriel Rivas collecting gold and bronze, Petroquímica leaves La Plata with its colors at the top of the national scene — the exact outcome the club’s athletes traveled to Buenos Aires Province to produce.
The open question now is whether the momentum carries into the next national calendar: no source in this reporting names Petroquímica’s next scheduled competition.
