The 1st Archery Company of Épinal will host the 20th edition of its 3D archery competition on Sunday, November 8, 2026, Vosges Info reported.
National Competitors Head to the Vosges Mountains
Several high-level athletes who recently contended at the French championships are slated to compete on the Épinal course. Among the notable entrants is David Roth, representing the Meute des Archers d’Étupes club. Roth brings a deep competitive resume in the 3D discipline, having captured the S1H straight bow Elite French championship in Bourg-Saint-Maurice in 2023. He followed that performance with a third-place finish at the 2004 Elite championship in Marchaux and a runner-up finish in 2025 at Boigny-sur-Bionne.
Roth defended his national runner-up standing in the straight bow category during the 2026 championships in Écouen. That tournament placed him directly behind Robin Gardeur, who secured the world title earlier that same year in Yankton, South Dakota. Floriane Roth, also shooting for the Meute des Archers d’Étupes club, joins the field after finishing fourth in the women’s straight bow Elite national championship.
Local Representation and Club Experience
Pascal Mangin will carry local hopes as a competitor representing the host organization, the 1st Archery Company of Épinal. Mangin earned a national silver medal in 2023 within the S3H hunting bow division at Bourg-Saint-Maurice. He subsequently placed 12th in the S1H hunting bow Elite championship at Marchaux in 2024. Although selected for the 2025 national tournament, an injury forced him to withdraw from the competition before stepping to the line.
Organizers have designed the anniversary course to challenge both amateur enthusiasts and seasoned specialists. The 3D discipline requires precise distance estimation, technical execution, and sustained concentration over rugged outdoor terrain.
World Championship Momentum Fuels the Milestone Event
The 20th Épinal competition arrives on the heels of a dominant international outing for the French national 3D archery squad. French competitors secured five world titles and eight total podium finishes at the world championships in Yankton, United States, held in early October 2026. That international success has elevated the profile of domestic French fixtures, drawing heightened interest to regional events across the country as participants prepare for the November 8 tournament.
