The visit, organized to deepen China-Albania sports and cultural exchange and promote the integration of sports culture with media communication, brought together the visiting delegation, university officials, faculty and student badminton players, according to the university’s report.
Xu Weibiao welcomes the delegation and outlines the university’s media-sports model
Xu Weibiao, deputy secretary of the university’s Party committee, welcomed the delegation and detailed the school’s educational strengths, talent development system, international exchange programs and campus sports culture, the report said.
Xu described the university as a well-known domestic media institution that adheres to a “media plus art plus technology” educational philosophy, and said it uses its communication strengths to help international cultural and sports exchanges take root and to tell stories of friendly exchanges between Chinese and foreign youth. He said sports serve as a universal language across borders and that badminton, combining accessibility with competitiveness, is an effective carrier for youth interaction, the university reported.
Delegation highlights Albanian badminton progress
Members of the Albanian delegation thanked the university for its hospitality and praised its distinctive media-focused education, campus culture and sports teaching facilities, according to the report. They also briefed their hosts on the development of badminton in Albania, the country’s youth sports talent training model and local cultural and sports communication efforts.
The delegation said the visit was fruitful and expressed interest in learning from the university’s experience combining sports education with media communication, with the goal of strengthening cooperation in sports exchanges, youth interaction and sports culture communication.
Friendly match pairs Chinese and Albanian players on the same court
The centerpiece of the visit was a friendly badminton match between Chinese and Albanian teachers and students. Players from both sides competed together, trading smashes, delicate drop shots and coordinated rallies while building rapport, the university reported.
Off the court, participants exchanged views on techniques, shared training experience and talked about cultural interests, the report said. The delegation also toured the campus and sports training facilities, getting a closer look at the university’s resources and its hands-on, media-oriented approach to education.
University plans to expand regular China-Albania youth exchanges
The university said the visit was an important step in deepening international humanities and sports exchange and broadening its global outlook. It plans to continue using its media strengths to diversify international exchange programs and carry out regular, multi-faceted exchanges between Chinese and foreign youth, using sports as a bridge and culture as a medium.
