PSG Transfer News: Paris Opens Talks to Extend Achraf Hakimi as Liverpool Target Araujo

Paris Saint-Germain has opened preliminary discussions to extend Achraf Hakimi’s contract beyond June 2029, TOP Mercato reported. The development arrives alongside emerging transfer discussions between Liverpool and Barcelona regarding defender Ronald Araujo, alongside fresh managerial links connecting Juventus with Julian Nagelsmann.

Paris Saint-Germain Opens Talks for Achraf Hakimi

Following a standout performance in a 5-1 victory over Le Havre at Stade Océane, where Hakimi scored a hat-trick and contributed two assists, Paris Saint-Germain initiated contact with the defender’s representatives to discuss an extension. Head coach Luis Enrique praised the Moroccan international following the match, calling him the best right-back in the world. Despite the club’s proactive approach, Hakimi and his entourage have chosen to temper discussions, maintaining that signing a new deal is not yet urgent given that his current contract runs until June 2029.

The defending Ligue 1 champions secured the win despite conceding an opening goal to Josh Maja, storming back to claim a 5-1 triumph against the division’s bottom-placed side. Serving as team captain in the absence of Marquinhos, Hakimi delivered a man-of-the-match display that extended the club’s winning run across all competitions to nine consecutive matches. The assists provided by the Moroccan went to Mika Godts and Senny Mayulu.

Barcelona and Liverpool Negotiate Ronald Araujo Transfer

Ronald Araujo, currently on a 12-month loan at Liverpool with a 55 M€ option to buy, could make his move permanent as early as January 2027. According to reports from Team Talk referenced by TOP Mercato, Barcelona approached Liverpool regarding an early permanent sale this winter. The Premier League club remains interested in securing the 27-year-old central defender during the upcoming transfer window, though negotiations hinge on lowering the fee to a range between 40 and 45 millions de livres, equivalent to roughly 47 et 53 millions d’euros.

Juventus Contacts Julian Nagelsmann Amid Coaching Uncertainty

Juventus has made direct contact with Julian Nagelsmann as the Italian club evaluates alternatives to current manager Luciano Spalletti, according to journalist Rudy Galetti. The 39-year-old German coach features prominently on a shortlist that also includes former France coach Didier Deschamps and two unnamed Italian managers.

Nagelsmann has been unattached since leaving his role with the German national team in July. While the former Bayern Munich boss has expressed appreciation for the approach from the Serie A giants, it remains undecided whether Juventus will officially dismiss Spalletti and appoint the German coach.
