Coahuila Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas praised the collaborative effort required to host the international tournament in the capital’s historic center. Speaking at the conclusion of the event, Jiménez Salinas noted that multi-institutional cooperation made it possible to bring the World Cup Final to Saltillo’s Plaza de Armas.
“When you work as a team and in a coordinated manner, you can organize great events like this World Cup final,” the governor stated, according to local coverage. Jiménez Salinas attended the participants’ drawing ceremony and official inauguration outside the Government Palace, thanking World Archery for selecting Coahuila as the host region.
Podium Finishes for Mexican Archers
Local athlete Dafne Quintero delivered a standout performance for the home crowd, capturing the silver medal in the compound women’s division. Quintero advanced to a tight gold-medal match against the United States representative Alexis Ruiz, who secured the victory. Colombia’s Sara López rounded out the podium with the bronze medal.
In the compound men’s category, Austria’s Nico Wiener claimed the gold medal, while Denmark’s Mathias Fullerton took silver. Mexican competitor Rodrigo González de Alba completed the podium by earning the bronze medal for his performance.
Recurve Division Champions Crowned
Sunday’s schedule featured the recurve competitions, which finalized the weekend’s medal table across both men’s and women’s brackets. Dhiraj Bommadevara of India secured the gold medal in the men’s division, outperforming Japan’s Junya Nakanishi in second place. Turkey’s Mete Gazoz captured the bronze medal.
In the women’s recurve final, Marie Horackova of Czechia earned the gold medal. Germany’s Katharina Bauer took home the silver medal, and Elif Gokkir of Turkey finished third to claim the bronze.
