For a long time it seemed that Manchester United’s footballers were on course for a third win in a row in the 24th round of the Premier League when they took a 2-0 lead against Fulham. However, the London team rallied and equalized at the end of the second half. The home team’s Benjamin Šešek (22) scored a 3-2 goal in the fourth minute of regulation. Despite the numerical disadvantage, Brentford kept the lead on the field of the third Aston Villa and surprisingly won there 1:0. Crystal Palace didn’t use the overtime that lasted for the whole half-time, and with Nottingham Forest they parted amicably 1:1. The match between Tottenham and visiting Manchester City ended in a 2-2 draw.
The first big chance of the match was scored by Tammy Abraham, a recent signing from Besiktas. Only Caoimhin Kelleher saved the visitors from conceding quickly. Ezri Konsa also found himself in a good position after the standard situation, but he couldn’t finish at all. The complication for Brentford came in the 42nd minute, when Kevin Schade had to go to the showers prematurely for an unsportsmanlike intervention in Matty Cash’s delicate parts.
Nevertheless, it was the visitors who took the lead on their side even in the weakened state before halftime. Dango Ouattara hit the top left corner of Emiliano Martínez’s goal from an angle in the first minute and Keith Andrews’ men took a 1-0 lead. A superb performance from the Brentford goalkeeper, backed up by a solid defence, eventually helped Andrews’ side to a valuable win that moved Brentford up to seventh and left third-placed Villa seven points behind leaders Arsenal.

Just before the break, Diallo tried to increase the home team’s lead, but his shot was blocked by Sander Berge.
The Red Devils’ promising performance continued in the second half, which started with Bryan Mbeum’s try after Diogo Dalot’s pass. But Leno was ready. On the other side, it was Lammens who caught Harry Wilson’s direct kick. However, in the 56th minute, the home side managed to double their lead when Casemiro found Matheus Cunha to score. Nine minutes later, it briefly looked like Fulham might have pulled through through Jorge Cuency, but his goal was eventually disallowed for a slight offside by Chukwueze.
A quarter of an hour before the end, Benjamin Šeško was close to United’s third goal, but his header only hit the left post. In the 85th minute, the situation became dramatic after all, when Harry Maguire fouled Raúl Jiménez in the penalty area, who converted the subsequent penalty and reduced the difference to one goal. In the set time, the visitors got an equalizer thanks to a wonderful shot by Kevin. In the end, the home team was saved by Šeško, who took advantage of Fernandes’ offer and scored the winning goal.
Manchester United thus continue their perfect start under the leadership of Michael Carrick. They have already won three times in a row and have returned to fourth place in the league table, which ensures qualification for the Champions League.
After just two minutes, visiting Jefferson Lerma tested Matz Sels with his attempt. However, the home team opened the score of the match, which captain Morgan Gibbs-White sent into the lead shortly after with an accurate shot. Forest’s standout player was Elliot Anderson, who made 13 successful passes in the opening half hour to keep the home side in the lead.

However, the home team did not give up even with 10 players and remained active. They even managed to threaten a couple of times, but Igor Jesus’ left-footed attempt after a quick counter-attack flew just over. Moments later, former Forest player at Crystal Palace Brennan Johnson had a chance, but he headed just wide of the right post.
Despite a final push, the visitors were unable to break down Nottingham’s defense and were unable to capitalize on a late first-half send-off. While the result means Palace have ended a run of five away defeats across competitions, they have also extended their winless streak to 12 games. Conversely, Forest remain just above the relegation zone and are six points ahead of West Ham in 18th place.
The guests from Manchester started the match much better than the home team and took the lead in the 11th minute thanks to Rayan Cherki. Bernardo Silva intercepted Yves Bissouma’s pass in midfield and then found Erling Haaland, who then set up a position for the Frenchman to beat Guglielmo Vicario with a right-footed shot.
Even the conceded goal didn’t wake up Spurs too much and a moment later they almost conceded a second time when Haaland finished with a lob after Rodri’s long pass, but fortunately for the home team his attempt ended up only in the upper net of their goal. Cherki, playing with gusto, got another chance, bypassing two defenders in the penalty area, but Vicario eliminated his shot. Before the end of the first half, however, the visitors struck for the second time, when after a poor play by Spurs, Silva found Antoine Semeny in the penalty area, who then increased the Citizens’ lead with a shot into the top left corner.
Spurs entered the second half significantly better, as they pulled one back in the 53rd minute when Solanke dispossessed Abdukodir Khusanov in the penalty area and then beat Gianluigi Donnarumma. Encouraged, Spurs continued their good performance and were rewarded with a superb equalizer in the 70th minute. Conor Gallagher’s cross found Solanke, who curled a beautiful cross past Donnarumma to score his second goal of the game. Moments later, it could have been even more cheerful at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but Donnarumma canceled out Wilson Odobert’s dangerous attempt with a brilliant save.
The Italian goalkeeper had a lot of work to do at the end of the match, as a moment later he had to intervene again, this time against Xavi Simons’ shot. Frank’s team had a clear advantage at the end of the match, but even so the visitors were close to the decisive goal when Tijjani Reijnders found Silva’s cross but headed just wide.
In the end, neither team managed to score the winning goal, so both teams shared the points. Undoubtedly, Tottenham will be more happy about this, after erasing the two-goal deficit, they took points away from the second Premier League team. On the contrary, Citizens cannot be satisfied, as their loss to leaders Arsenal has increased to six points.
