Nsoki: Union Defense Leadership & Performance

After the 1-1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday evening, Union coach Steffen Baumgart commented on Stanley Nsoki’s performance. Since fellow defender Diogo Leite will be missing in the coming weeks with a thigh problem, the Hoffenheim loanee has become more of a focus in the Iron Men’s defense.

Baumgart drew a sober but positive conclusion: “Normal, so a reasonable performance. He made few mistakes and was there in the duels.” The coach praised the fact that the Frenchman’s long balls also worked as desired – so “everything was okay” for Baumgart.

At the same time, the coach emphasized that Nsoki’s workload had to be kept in mind after a long period without full playing time. “You have to pay a little attention over time to ensure that it continues to work,” says Baumgart. There will be one or two situations where I’m sure things will go better or even better next week.”

According to the wording, Nsoki should again be considered as a factor in the next Bundesliga duel when the Union team face Hamburger SV.
