Carolina Marín spoke this Thursday through a video published on her social networks after that she has had another operation on her right knee. The Huelva native explained in it the pain she has been suffering in recent months and how she is now focused on her recovery.
“Yesterday I went into surgery again for the third time for my right knee. I have many months with pain and they gave me several options. One of them infiltrated me and the other operated on me, which is what I did,” the badminton player begins by saying in the video.
Marín underwent surgery on his right knee where a partial meniscectomy of the medial meniscus and the lateral meniscus of his right knee.
“What I prioritize most today is quality of life and health. I have been dealing with very sharp pain for a long time, especially in the internal meniscus, I have also had the external meniscus. But hey, the doctors who operated on me have given me a very good opinion,” he continues.
“Now it’s time to face the first weeks with crutches. I’ve been told it’s a total of six weeks of recovery. I’m looking forward to regaining muscle little by little. These last few months have been quite hard for me and one of the main reasons was my knee,” he noted.
Now we have to wait to see if Marín arrives in time to compete the European Championship to be held in Huelva, in the Carolina Marín pavilionfrom April 6 to 12.
“I don’t want to rule out anything in my life right now. I want to prioritize my knee and I want to approach recovery by being positive and conscious. I want to thank you for all your support,” he concluded.
The player has faced up to three cruciate ligament injuries since 2019, the last at the Paris 2024 Games. when he was close to qualifying for the Olympic final.
