KVC Westerlo picked up three very useful points when visiting Zulte Waregem. It is therefore a little safer in the rankings and can look up rather than down. Moreover, De Kemphanen took another clean sheet and that was visibly pleasing to the coach.
With a solid defense, KVC Westerlo did well. Andreas Jungdal did well in goal and has become the calm solidity at the back, a nice final piece of the defense. His coach was also satisfied.
KVC Westerlo had to figure things out at the back against Zulte Waregem
“It was another very good game from Jungdal and also a very good clean sheet. He deserved it last week, but now he has succeeded. He sometimes went far out of his goal to save us and was also good in the air.”
There was no Reynolds on the right due to suspension, while Bayram dropped out centrally during the warm-up, causing Roman Neustädter to suddenly appear between the lines. “We don’t want to take any risks,” said coach Charaï.
Leadership by Neustädter, offensive actions by Ourega at Westerlo
“Roman immediately showed leadership. This was an important victory, so I am happy and proud. A nice clean sheet and our second away win of the season: I don’t want to talk about complexes, but about work points.”
And of course there was also a lot of praise for Dylan Ourega, who immediately scored an assist in his second game for Westerlo: “He should have had a second assist and that would have been a nice calling card. He has the offensive runs and did well. The defense still lacks automatisms, but it is great that they held their own.”
