The Miguel Esteban City Council has launched a new sports proposal with which it seeks to strengthen the presence of women’s sports in the town. Looking ahead to the 2026 season, the City Council promotes the creation of a women’s basketball group for women over 18 years of age, with the aim of offering an inclusive space to practice this sport, regardless of previous experience.
The initiative is designed both for those women who want to take their first steps in basketball and for those who have already practiced it before and wish to resume it or continue training regularly. A specific level is not required, since the group is born with an open, participatory approach and adapted to the different abilities of the participants.
The City Council highlights that this project not only pursues the learning and practice of basketball, but also promotes values such as camaraderie, coexistence and teamwork. In addition, the aim is to promote healthy lifestyle habits through physical activity, offering an alternative for active leisure within the municipality itself.
The proposal will take place in a close and dynamic environment, designed so that the participants enjoy group sport and feel part of a common initiative. The City Council encourages all interested women to join, highlighting that it is never too late to start a sports discipline or to return to it.
