Murphy Scores 44: Pelicans Fall Short

Trey Murphy III had a rare sniper night: 44 points, 12 shots from the parking lot, and a franchise record in the process. Except that even with this long-distance festival, the Pelicans leave empty-handed Milwaukee with a frustrating defeat after overtime (141-137).

In Milwaukee, Trey Murphy III planted 12 shots from the parking lot, a new franchise record, spraying at a crazy volume (12/19 from afar, 15/28 on the shot). He finished at 44 points… in a season where the Pelicans are still desperately looking for benchmarks.

The cruelest thing is that this show was not enough. In a match that went into overtime, New Orleans still lost 141-137, despite a team at 52% from 3-point range (24/46). Opposite, Milwaukee responded to the scoring with collective efficiency (61% shooting) and ended up tipping the coin to the right side.

Behind the performance, the continuity is obvious: in the 2025-26 season, Murphy averages 21.6 points and he had already marked the history of the franchise recently by becoming the best all-time 3-point scorer for the Pelicans.
