Tombense Football: Túlio Guerreiro Appointed Director, Borges Returns

Tombense have appointed former midfielder Túlio Guerreiro as football director for the 2026 campaign, reinforcing their setup in the Campeonato Mineiro top flight.

The club had already confirmed head coach Cristóvão Borges, who returns to the game after almost three years. According to Globo.com, Túlio, known in management as Túlio Lustosa, was formalised on Monday afternoon.

At his presentation he received the number five shirt from club president Lane Gaviolle.

It is his second stint at Tombense, having held the post in 2016. He has performed similar duties at Goiás, Botafogo and Aparecidense, focusing on planning and structuring of the football department.

As a player he turned out for Botafogo, Corinthians, Grêmio and Goiás. His career also included spells with Oita Trinita in Japan, plus Figueirense and Sobradinho-DF.

He won the Copa do Brasil and the Paulistão with Corinthians in 2009, then lifted the Campeonato Gaúcho with Grêmio in 2010.

Tombense are set to compete in three tournaments in 2026, the Campeonato Mineiro, the Copa do Brasil and Série D of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
