With the firm commitment to dignify sport and strengthen the social fabric in the municipality, Mayor Rosa María Hernández Espejo led the flag ceremony of the sports delegation that will represent Veracruz in the State and National Olympiad CONADE 2026.
From the Central Patio of the Municipal Palace, the municipal president carried out the symbolic delivery of uniforms to the athletes, highlighting that this clothing is not only sports equipment, but a symbol of the identity and pride of being Buenos Aires.
In his message, Hernández Espejo stressed the importance of the comprehensive training of young people: “Sport is a tool for social transformation and peace.
It serves to transmit values, generate identity and social cohesion.
For this reason, our administration promotes high-performance athletes as examples of improvement for our community.”
The delegation of the municipality of Veracruz reaffirms its regional leadership by participating in 24 strategic disciplines, among which are Chess, Athletics, Basketball (5×5 and 3×3), Boxing, Breaking, Cycling, Fencing, Soccer, Fronton, various forms of Gymnastics, Judo, Karate, Weightlifting, Swimming, Roller Skates, Rugby Sevens, Taekwondo, Table Tennis, Triathlon and Volleyball (Beach and Indoor).
The institutional objective of this comprehensive support is to guarantee that athletes have the necessary support for their optimal performance in the state, regional phases and, finally, in the national stage that will take place between the months of April and May.
The mayor urged athletes and coaches to honor the values of discipline and fair play in each competition.
“Make history at the state Olympics.
I wish you all the success for the love of Veracruz,” he said.
