This past weekend we had a new day of the highest national category, Division of Honor, where the people from Huelva from IES La Orden beat Astures to finish leaders in Group A and the Sevillians from Rinconada – Sevilla fell to Pitius in Group B.
Astures 2-5 Recreational IES La Orden
In the Huelva league clash that ended the first round, the Andalusian team began with victory in the DX by beating Jai Rashmi Chandarana and Sarita Patel in five tight sets (11-10/6-11/11-6/9-11/11-10). In the DF the locals debuted the marking, Claudia Leal and Jana Villanueva beating Hristomira Vasileva Popovska and Laura Santos (7-11/11-9/5-11/11-6/11-9) while Alejandro Pérez and Álvaro Morán once again took the lead in the match, beating Jai Rashmi Chandarana and Pelayo Lucas Pinto (11-10/11-10/11-8).
In the Individuals 2 Silvia Redondo (11-7/11-8/8-11/11-7 vs Sarita Patel) and Alejandro Pérez (11-7/11-2/11-7 vs Alejandro Valdes) gave the mathematical victory to the people of Huelva. And in the Singles 1 Astures added their second point after the withdrawal of Hristomira Vasileva Popovska and Mark Caljouw placed the final 5-2, beating Pelayo Lucas Pinto (11-7/3-11/11-7/11-3).
UD Ibiza – Badminton Pitius 5-2 Rinconada – Seville
CB Rinconada – Sevilla could not obtain victory on its visit to Ibizan lands, thus occupying the last position in the Group B qualifying table after the end of the first round. The locals dominated the doubles section, obtaining 3/3 points. In the DX Yaidel Gil and Carmen María Jiménez defeated Ernesto Baschwitz and Marta Molina (11-7/11-6/11-5). In the DF Carmen María Jiménez and Elizabeth Mary Tolman beat Paula Cáceres and Marta Molina (11-2/11-3/11-5) and in the DM Alex William Henry Green and Enogat Roy achieved a close victory against Enrico Baroni and Joshua Magee (11-5/11-8/10-11/10-11/11-6).
In the first round of singles Rinconada obtained full victories by beating Miu Lin Kirby over María Rovira (11-2/11-2/11-4) and Ernesto Baschwitz over Yaidel Gil (11-10/11-9/6-11/11-9). And in the Individuals 1 Sofía García defeated Paula Cáceres (11-5/11-9/11-5) while on the adjacent court Enogat Roy placed the final 5-2 after beating Enrico Baroni (11-9/4-11/7-11/11-7/11-6).
