Nîmes Stage Winners: France & Spain Dominate

The stage of Nimes of the 2025-2026 Indoor World Series of archery has officially gone to the archives. On this Sunday 18 January, the specialty finals were held to award the victory on French soil and the composition of the podiums – between recurve and compound bow -, this is how things went.

The Spaniard Andres Temiño Mediel prevailed in a very tight final won 6-5 (10+ to 10) against Chun-Heng Wei, representative of Taipei. The Brazilian Marcus D’Almeida instead took third place having beaten the Transalpine Alexandre Desemery 7-3.

The host Victoria Sebastian comes back to win her victory in Nimes by defeating the Mexican Angela Ruiz 7-3, in a picture completed by the other Frenchwoman in the competition, Lisa Barbelin, capable of beating the Czech Marie Horackova 6-4.

In a very tough last act, the Dane Stephan Hansen beat the Dutch champion Mike Schloesser in the shoot-off (149-149, 10-9), taking the scepter in Nimes, in a podium that saw his compatriot Mathias Fullerton finishing in 3rd place, after the head-to-head victory with the Austrian Nico Wiener.

The Colombian Alejandra Usquiano makes no mistake as she wins in the women’s game: 146-144 to the surprise Croatian Amanda Mlinaric. The British Ella Gibson “stops” in third place, beating the Estonian Meeri-Marita Paas 146-142.

Next meeting, the sixth of the Indoor World Series 2025-2026, in Merida. The event will take place in Mexico from 13 to 15 February and will offer 250 points.
