Ponferrada Archery: 5 Medals at Castilla y León Indoors

This weekend the Regional Archery Championship was held in Valladolid, to which the Ponferrada Archery Club was present with seven of its archers. It was a fantastic weekend in which they won 2 gold medals and 3 bronze medals distributed in different categories and modalities.

Of these seven archers, five of them belong to municipal schools.

On Saturday the competition would be for the lower categories, while the senior category would be held on Sunday. It should be mentioned that elimination series could not be held on Saturday due to the snow storm that hit Valladolid, so the final classification came from the positions of the qualifying round.

Saturday’s results were as follows:

-Man’s Children’s Compound Bow: GOLD – Erik Merayo Ovalle.

-Recurve Bow Cadete hombre: ORO – Izan Rodríguez Otero.

10th – Marcos González Vidal.

-Woman Cadet Compound Bow: BRONZE – Lucia González Monteserin.

-Men’s Cadet Compound Bow: GOLD – Izan Negro Panizo.

BRONZE – Roberto Galiz Rey.

Sunday’s result would be the following:

-Man Compound Bow, Manuel Dinis González would be eliminated in the round of 16, leaving him in 9th final position.

The CTA Ponferrada thanks the Ponferrada City Council and the Department of Sports for the help obtained to be able to enjoy this sport. Also thank the University of León for its help.
