“Liepāja hockey team” tonight in the game of the “Optibet” hockey league (OHL) beat the leading team “Mogo/RSU” 4:3 in extra time, ending its 16-game winning streak.
Dāniels Andersons scored for the home team in the first period, Niks Zīle was mostly accurate in the second period, and Dominiks Sadausks made it 3-0 for the Liepāja team at the beginning of the third period.
In the continuation of the match, “Mogo/RSU” responded with the goals scored by David Sarkanis, Gat Sprukts and Nika Fenenko, achieving a tie 69 seconds before the end of the regular time. In the overtime, the home team needed only 18 seconds to score the winning goal, Paul Svar being accurate.
On the other hand, in another game, Kyiv “Capitals” unexpectedly lost to Tallinn “Panter” 4:5 at home. Daniil Tsarkovskis, Sam Hu and Denis Honcharenko scored for the Kyiv team, and Daniil Fursa scored another goal. Nikita Federovits won the victory for the Tallinn team in extra time.
“Mogo”/RSU takes the first place in the tournament table with 50 points in 30 games, Kyiv’s “Capitals” are second with 49 points, “Liepāja hockey team” has accumulated 48 points in 31 matches, and “Zemgale”/LBTU is one place lower with 47 points in 29 games. The Riga “Prizma” team has 30 points in 31 games, the Tallinn “Panter” has 22 points in 29 games, the Elektrēni “Energija” hockey players have 19 points in 30 matches, while the Vilnius “Hockey Punks” and “Riga Hockey School” have collected 14 points in 28 matches.
