Jorge García: Snow Dog Sledding Champion

Last Sunday in the Catalan resort of Baqueira Beret, the musher Jorge García managed to become the Spanish snow dog sledding champion in the six-dog category.




“This past weekend, in Baqueira Beret, our neighbor Jorge García was proclaimed Spanish Snow Mushing Champion, an extraordinary achievement that reflects his effort, perseverance and passion for such a demanding sport,” highlighted the Olvega City Council.

Javier Ruiz Orte from Olvera was fourth in this test.

García closed his participation with a time of 26:59.8.

The second stage, held on Sunday, gave him the victory.





In this test he stopped the clock at 12:40, surpassing second place, Javier Alemanno, by almost 30 seconds.

The third position has been for Itoitz Armendariz with a cumulative time of 27:46.3 over the two days of competition.

Javier Ruiz Orte was fourth with 28:45.8.

The two Olvegueño mushers have ended the snow season with this test.
