The opening day of the Campionati Italiani Para-Archery in Martinsicuro set the stage for tomorrow’s national title bouts, following a rigorous round of class title allocations and absolute eliminatory matches across the Ricurvo, Compound, W1, and Visually Impaired divisions. Athletes took to the venue to secure their spots in the ultimate showdowns for the Tricolore.
Absolute Finals Set Across Divisions
In the women’s recurve absolute division, defending champion Elisabetta Mijno of Arcieri delle Alpi will face Vincenza Petrilli of Fiamme Oro for the gold medal. The bronze medal match pits Silvia Savo of Arco Club Pontino against Elisabetta Petris of Arcieri Cormons. On the men’s side, Stefano Travisani representing GSPD meets Davide Bettoni of Fiamme Gialle for the national title, while outgoing champion Giuseppe Verzini of Arcieri Cormons battles Gabriel De Toffoli of Arcieri Dekl Piave.
The compound women’s bracket features Irene Picci of Arcieri Padovani challenging Maria Andrea Virgilio of Fiamme Azzurre for gold, with Gloria Lorenzetti of Arcieri Decumanus Maximus and Letizia Visintini of Arcieri Cormons contesting the bronze. In the men’s compound final, Christian Seneca of Kosmos Rovereto takes on Lorenzo Schieda of P.H.B. for the championship, while reigning title-holder Giampaolo Cancelli of Fiamme Oro squares off against Gabriele Saccoman of Arcieri Padovani for third place.
W1 and Visually Impaired Showdowns
The W1 men’s bracket delivers an all-GSPD gold medal derby between Paolo Tonon and Maurizio Panella, while Gabriele Ferrandi of Arcieri Aurora and Francesco Maria Sorato of Frecce Azzurre contest the bronze. In the women’s W1 final, Dalia Dameno of Arcieri Ugo di Toscana meets Simona Canipari of Prodesenzano for gold, and Angela Procida of Frecce Azzurre secured the bronze.
Among the Visually Impaired 1 division, Emma Paoloni of Medio Chienti faces Maria Salaris of Arcieri Poggibonsi for the gold medal, with Tiziana Marini of Arcieri Sagittario del Veneto and Matteo Panariello of Arcieri Livornesi fighting for bronze. In the V.I. 2/3 category, Daniele Piran of Arco Club Bolzano Vincentino locks horns with Michele Biisecchi of Arcieri Ugo di Toscana for the title, while Ivan Nesossi of Arcieri Novara and Claudio Peruffo of Arcieri Niche compete for the bronze.
Team Semifinals and Class Champions
Team competition heats up as the compound men’s semifinals pit P.H.B. (Schieda, Cancelli) against Arcieri Padovani (Migailo, Saccoman), alongside Frecce Azzurre (Addio, Contemi) versus Kosmos Rovereto (Powroznik, Seneca). In the mixed team recurve event, Arcieri delle Alpi (Mijno, Boaglio) await their gold medal match opponent, which will be decided between Arcieri Ugo di Toscana (Popelishvili, Dolfi) and Arcieri Cormons (Petris, Verzini).
Class title honors were also decided during the opening sessions. Stefano Travisani claimed the recurve men’s class title with 632 points, ahead of Davide Bettoni (595) and Giuseppe Verzini (562). Elisabetta Mijno topped the senior women’s recurve with 637 points, followed by Vincenza Petrilli (579) and Silvia Savo (506). In the junior ranks, Gabriel De Toffoli led the men’s class with 538 points, while Elisabetta Petris led the junior women with 532 points.
Christian Seneca captured the senior men’s compound title with 664 points—outpacing Lorenzo Schieda (644) and third-place Stefano Brocchetta (639). Irene Picci won the senior women’s compound class with 662 points, ahead of Maria Andrea Virgilio (656) and Letizia Visintini (621). Junior compound gold went to Riccardo Giuseppe Bruno with 596 points, and Leonardo D’Angelo led the Ragazzi class with 635 points.
